Kirkwood United Church of Christ
Sunday School

Sunday School is provided for children three years of age through senior high. Classes meet during the Education Hour at 9:15 AM every Sunday morning, September through May.

We are using a "rotation model" which allows children to concentrate on one Bible story or lesson for four or five weeks -- each week rotating to a different workshop:  Art, Drama, Music, Games, Audio-Visual, Story-telling, Cooking and Computers.  Our "Holy Land Adventure" begins on Sunday, September 16, at 9:45 a.m. for children in Kindergarten through the seventh grade.  The Adventure will include:

  • Drama, Puppets & Storytelling at "Abraham’s Place"

  • Art in "Joseph’s Workshop"

  • Movies at "Holy Land Adventure Theater"

  • Cooking in "Mary and Martha’s Kitchen"

  • Computers in our Computer Room

  • Games at "Isaiah’s Play Place"... and much more!

  • A class for preschoolers.

During the Summer months special opportunities are designed for learning.

A nursery is provided for infants and children up to three years of age during the 8:30 and 11:00 AM worship services and the 9:45 AM Education Hour.

Pre-schoolers have a separate class in Classroom #4.
Eighth - twelfth Graders meet upstairs in the Theater.
5th, 6th & 7th Graders  have a Special Sunday School class upstairs in the Youth Rooms.  Leaders are Evelyn Appel and Mike Wheelehan.
