Music plays a vital part in worship at Kirkwood UCC. We are blessed to have outstanding leadership from Director of Music Ministry, Merry Keller, and Accompanist, Ron Bryant. Our choir sings anthems twice a month, with a simple goal of “making a joyful noise to the Lord.” Anyone who enjoys singing, regardless of experience or skill level, is invited to join the choir for a season or year-round. Choir practice is at 7 p.m. on Thursdays. If you enjoy singing, come and join the fun!
Solos and Ensembles
On Sundays when the choir is not singing--or on special occasions--vocal and instrumental soloists or ensembles add beauty to our worship. Several KUCC members, both youth and adults, either sing or play, generously sharing their talents. We have enjoyed hearing piano, cello, violin, flute, and guitar, each adding a layer of richness to the morning’s accompaniment. We also engage outside individuals or groups to provide music for special services, such as the Gospel group Inspired by Christ who, for several years have led music for our February worship prior to our African American Brunch.
Children’ Music
Merry Keller, our Interim Director of Music Ministry, is developing opportunities for the KUCC children to sing and be involved in the music ministry of the church. If you know a child who would like to take part, contact Merry by submitting the form on this page.
