Mission
Kirkwood United Church of Christ supports the national and international outreach programs of the United Church of Christ. In addition, we participate in local outreach programs, supplying hands-on volunteers, as well as material and financial aid.

As a church in an active community, we regularly make our facilities available to non-profit groups such as Alanon, SLAA, COSA, and the MOMS' ClubŪ.

Specific current outreach programs include:

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY - Constructs houses for low-income families.

KIRK CARE - Collects and distributes food, clothing and furniture and provides counseling for both personal and work-related problems.

EDUCARE - Provides intervention and training to prepare children for Kindergarten.

OPERATION FOOD SEARCH - Distributes food, clothing, and household items to over 95,000 individuals every month in St. Louis and many surrounding counties.

A Christmas in July "collection" of goods helps support two local Ministries.

ST. JOHN'S COMMUNITY SERVICES - At Christmas, we "adopt" families served by St. John's and provide presents and food for them.

The committee also considers and responds to many other appeals, remembering to be good stewards of God's gifts.
