Winter Clothing and Toy Drive–Aug. 27-Sept. 24

A collection bin is now located in the Gathering Area for you to fill with new or gently used clothing or toys to be distributed free of charge to area residents in need. A Winter Store will make items available at a Winter Store on October 7 at Kirkwood Baptist Church.

Most of us believe “It is better to give than to receive,” and Hands on Kirkwood provides an easy opportunity to serve those in need. Hands on Kirkwood (HOK) is sponsoring a one-day mission blitz when every member of the community is encouraged to serve. On October 7, area churches, along with local organizations and individuals, will work together to meet community needs. The HOK leadership team secures projects, enlists project leaders, promotes the event, and registers volunteers. Volunteers are recruited through partner churches and organizations, but individuals can also sign-up to serve.

KUCC’s Mission & Outreach Ministry team is planning full-on participation on this day of community service! We feel driven by our faith to seize this opportunity to help others. We know that as we serve together, this shared effort will cultivate a spirit of community cooperation and unity. Please check the upcoming newsletters and bulletins to find ways in which you can get involved.

Also, if you are a senior citizen in need of help around your home, we will help connect you to HOK volunteers to lend a hand on that day with difficult chores!
