Outreach Programs

The Mission and Outreach Ministry at Kirkwood UCC is committed to supporting mission outreach through personal involvement and commitment of financial resources.  In addition to supporting the national and international outreach programs of the United Church of Christ, KUCC participates in local outreach programs, supplying hands-on volunteers, as well as materials and financial aid.

Ongoing Ministries include:

The Breakfast Program–On the 3rd Sunday of every month, members and friends of KUCC provide, prepare and serve a hot breakfast to individuals at St. Phillips Lutheran Church in North St. Louis.

KirkCare–Nonperishable food items are collected throughout the year for KirkCare, a local food pantry providing for individuals within the Kirkwood School District attendance area. .  In addition members of KUCC serve on the KirkCare board and assist in the Christmas Food Distribution.

St. John’s Community Ministry – Collecting food items and school supplies as well as providing Christmas gifts and meals to individuals in the St. John’s area.

Habitat for Humanity– KUCC annually pledges financial support to the UCC Habitat House.  In addition to raising money to meet the pledge, members of KUCC spend at least one Saturday doing hands-on work at the Habitat House.

Shepherd’s Center of Webster-Kirkwood provides programs and services for older adults.  KUCC is one of its sponsoring congregations.

Summer Intern – each summer KUCC hires a disadvantaged high school student to work at the church.

As a church in an active community, we regularly make our facilities available to non-profit groups such as Alanon, SLAA, COSA and the Mom’s Club.
