Larissa Forsythe
Though born in St. Louis, Larissa has had the opportunity to live in multiple states – including Colorado, Florida, and North Carolina – which has broadened her context and cultivated an appreciation for diversity and variety. While in high school, she discovered a love of the theatre and spent the better part of her young adult life pursuing that dream. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Western Carolina University in Theatre with a focus on performance and a Masters of Fine Arts in Acting from Lindenwood University. During her professional acting career she worked in numerous genres – from children’s theatre to avant-garde. She also served as adjunct faculty at SIUE, teaching acting and Introduction to Theatre. In her early thirties, she began to suspect that God had other plans for her and left the theatrical scene to explore what those plans might be. Her search led her to enroll at Eden Seminary last year and she finally feels that she has come home. As a passionate advocate of Global Justice, Larissa is looking forward to serving on the UCC Global Ministries Council of Theological Students this year. She is also looking forward to the next year at Eden and at Kirkwood UCC and to the wonderful and enriching experiences that await her.
